Six channel video installation/ sculptures t-shirts: corn- metal- serum bags- pubic hair- soil
This video installation is an extension of my previous piece NN, which focuses on the disappeared babies in Argentina during the country's last military dictatorship. It consists of five t-shirts, of the size that would fit a ten-month old baby. They are made of different materials and mounted on the wall equidistant from each other.
Remnants is about war and the damage it inflicts on children. It deals with the effects of poverty, illness and displacement. It is a tribute to the babies lost to armed conflicts and military governments. Remnants denounces the world system and the decision to go to war which invariably results in uncountable, but avoidable, baby deaths every year.
